Single leg balance work is a simple yet effective way to build foot and ankle control. It challenges your proprioception which is the ability of your joints to correct your body position in space. This is critical in rehabilitation of an ankle sprain and preventing reoccurrence.
Try to aim to keep your balance but also not compensate by moving through your hips & trunk, or straightening your knee. You can progress this by standing on a bosu ball, or trying with your eyes closed.
